Bottled chopped garlic has a vinegar smell, does it evaporate when cooked?

I like the idea of pre done chopped garlic but it seems to smell, does this go when cooked?
Does anyone use a brand that they really like, the one I have comes from Tesco and is English Provender.

I use that one, and I have never noticed a taste vinegar once cooked (although I do like vinegar a lot, so might not notice as much as others!)

It doesn’t. Pre-chopped garlic in any kind of preservative always tastes of garlic + preservative. It’s grim.

Look for frozen chopped garlic. It’s just like fresh and can go straight from freezer to pot.

I have never had a problem with it.

I once used it and had to chuck the whole spag Bol out, it tasted so strongly of vinegar. I'd never use it again. If I'm in a rush then garlic purée is a good substitute.

We use frozen when can't be arsed to chop fresh. Think more major supermarkets do it

Nah the bottled stuff always tastes of the preservative IMO.

I use frozen fresh garlic (and ginger) you can get it from any major supermarket. Only thing is the Cofresh crushed frozen garlic is in lumps that are too big for most dishes so I usually have to chop them in half with a big knife.
