Toddler diet

DD (15 months) remains a bit of a porker (around 98th percentile). She's a long girl and is only just about cruising so perhaps isn't burning that much off, so its understandable to a degree. But I'd like to hear whether her diet seems unusual for her age. Here's what she will have on a healthy non-teething day:

7.30 6oz full fat milk
8.30 Breakfast of maybe porridge and banana or a piece of buttered toast and a few blueberries
11.45 Lunch - a home cooked bowl of fish pie or beef stew perhaps (she'll eat anything between half and all), following by some fruit
2.00 A snack - maybe most of a banana or a few rice cakes
4.30 Tea - normally some finger foods - bread, cheese, olives, some berries, etc. Some of my cake if I don't eat it quick enough
7.15 6oz milk

How does this seem?

very very similar to my 15 month old dd who has been walking for a while now and is quite the skinny ribs. No expert but seems pretty good, am sure she will change once she starts charging about a bit more.

gnu - my ds2 is 16 months - he has been walking for 4 months so is very active! He's tiny (weighs about 21 lbs) and he eats almost exactly the same as your dd, except lunch and tea are the other way round (small lunch, big tea) and he drinks about 9-10oz of milk in the morning!

I think they all find their own natural appetite and size at this age, so your dd sounds fine! And once she starts really moving around her body shape will probably change anyway.

FWIW, ds1 was weaned at 4 months, but didn't start crawling until 8.5 months, and walking until 14 months went through a really porky stage before he became more active.

sounds perfectly fine to me .

So is it independent walking, once they get confident, that really burns the energy? Although DD can crawl/cruise she's not given to charging around much. I guess once walking she can charge around outside whereas there are limited opportunities for her to crawl outside.

My dd2 is on the large side but also tall, she eats the same as your dd, dd2 has been walking since 10 months and has lost her porky legs and arms but still has a pot belly
