I am not into fruit, but happy to snack on raw mushrooms. Are they ok do you think, or do they contain loads of calories?

ok

Eat to your heart's content. No fat in them and hardly any calories as far as I know.

Can't mushrooms in large quantities cause mucous??? Not sure what dimly recalled TV doctor/McKeith type programme I'm 'remembering' though so don't take my word for it.

Mmmm-I love raw muchrooms too.

However,I do prefer them fried in butter with garlic and cream and a chunk of French bread.

I think I'm talking rubbish. Can't find any info except that mushrooms are 'damp' in a vaguely Chinese medicine kind of way. They are a fungi after all and grow in the damp...

MMmmm. Mushrooms, fried in garlic butter, splash of white wine, some mixed herbs, topped with mozzarella cheese melted under the grill.

Soooo not low fat!
