Corn for cornbread

Planning to make American Cornbread. What cornmeal should I buy? Or is anything labelled cornmeal ok? I saw some in the Infuan food aisle by Natco, would that be OK? Is there an American brand available here?
Thank you!

Indian aisle. How does autocorrect correct to a non existent word? Blush

You best bet here will be fine ground polenta from the Italian supermarket section or an Italian delicatessen. Some Caribbean shops might have what you need too.
If you Google cornbread flour, a good article on all aspects of the process, from the Guardian, shows up.

I love making cornbread! This is my go-to recipe: www.allrecipes.com/recipe/76594/grandmothers-buttermilk-cornbread/
Anything labelled 'cornmeal' or 'polenta' will work. Coarse or fine ground will both be fine but will make differently textured bread. Just don't buy cornflour by mistake ;)
You've made me want cornbread now!

Or buy this on Amazon and slather with Lurpak.

Yes the Natco Cornmeal is fine! I use it all the time to make jalapeño feta cornbread Smile

Oh, thank you all, fantastic!

Cornbread really is great stuff, isn’t it?
