DD1 (who is 26) loves to bake and has asked for baking books for her Christmas. Her lovely boyfriend is getting her a Kitchenaid as a surprise which she will be thrilled with. She is fairly proficient i think she is looking for new and interesting things to bake. Anyone got any ideas or favourite books?I have got her How Baking Works...And what to do if it doesn't. By James Morton already. Would like to get her at least another one or maybe two. Thanks

Everyone will have different suggestions OP but I'll start! I'm a great fan of Annie Bell's Baking Bible. It's full of lovely recipes including the most delicious coffee and walnut loaf cake

It's not the book to go for if you're after something more along the fancy decorating lines, though; this is more a treasure-trove of great recipes which work.

I like Delia Smith and Mary Berry.

She is a HUGE Mary Berry fan.

I’ve got Paul Hollywood’s first baking book and have found it very useful

Love the early hummingbird books, it's American style baking, but has the richness that makes them better than most American baking imo. The later books get a little odd.

The carrot cake with cream cheese frosting it amazing, easy to make and I'm regularly told it's the best carrot cake people have ever had!

Stand ours are also the chocolate brownies, raspberry trifle cupcakes, red velvet cake, rocky road, the American baked cheesecakes, and the raspberry chocolate brownie is to die for!

They have shops in London if you are nearby to see if you like their stuff.

Bravetart’s baking book is incredible. She really goes into the science of why what she’s doing works, and I can honestly say I’ve never had a bad bake from her. You need to order it from the US, but Amazon do it. Honestly there isn’t a better baking book for someone who really loves it.

John Whaite's first book is excellent- his basic recipes for choux pastry etc are the most reliable I've used.
If she likes more complicated recipes the Bake Off crème de la crème book is really good.

Popina Book of Baking - it's by far and away the most used book on my recipe shelf.

Thank you. I will look at all of those.
