Sloe gin from 2015....

So I made my first sloe gin in 2015 and have just discovered a left over bottle. It was my first attempt, and while I followed all instructions etc, I've no idea if it's still safe to drink?!

It's clear enough, and has been in a kilner bottle unopened since then.

Would you drink it?!

If you don't want it ...

It will be fine.

Drink it! I recently found some from 2011. Made it, then found out was pregnant and then forgot about it for another 6 years. Had to strain it but other than that completely fine!

Oh I want it 🤩

I would think so. The alcohol and the sugar are both preservatives.

OnceUponATimeInAmerica · 23/10/2018 20:22

Yes it will. I have some from 2005 which is still delicious. I made 5 demijohns full that year. Did a similar volume in 2010 which we have hardly touched, except what we have away as Christmas gifts that year.

Guess what years I was on maternity leave and had time for picking and pricking?!

Reminds me I need to get picking this week. Have some blackberry & sea buckthorn on the go too.
