Alternative to Cheerios?

Does anyone know of an alternative to Cheerios which isn't full of sugar and salt and pref not made by Nestle? Great for DD's small motor skills (and darn tasty!) but feel guilty having them in the house.

honey nut loops are kelloggs. Prob just as bad for sugar though.

my children like Cheerios, and I don't buy Nestle, just buy similar store's own version. Think both Tesco and Sainsbury's do them - Tesco definately do.

I'm more bothered by Nestle than the salt and sugar though!

Thanks Sassy and Panda - both worth investigating! Anyone know of any lower sugar versions as well?

What am I missing about Nestle? Are they baddies?????

sassy · 15/06/2007 10:34

Yes, push baby milk onto mothers inj hospital in 3rd world countries and meaning lots of babies are malnourished or die as a result of gut problems caused by poor sterilisation etc.

Do a search on nestle/baby milk here and you'll find loads of info.

Aaaah, I see. My baby days are long gone so I missed all that stuff.

"just buy similar store's own version" Ah, but a lot of store'sownbrands are made by Nestle IIRC...

Tescos multigrain stars are lower in sugar than Cheerios I think. About the same kind of size and easy to grab with little fingers.
