Have burnt a stainless steel pot and have no idea if it is possible to remove the black stain. Any ideas?

Don't know how well any of them would work, but I'd try soaking the stain in biological washing powder, or white vinegar or maybe even Coke?

At the weekend I had a bad pan experience with my first foray into jam making. Ended up with blackened, rock-solid caramel stuff on the bottom. I used bio powder. Dissolved one tablet in boiling water, let it soak and then boiled it up. Took patience as I had to do this a few times and eventually the burnt-on stuff lifted up from the base. HTH.

I am ALWAYS doing it!

The bio tablet is great, but I find if I boil rhubarb in it next time I am having a rhubarb crumble or something....needless to say I am very good at rhubarb crumbles

boiling vinegar in it and then leaving it to cool has worked for me in the past - stinks though!!
