Does anyone freeze veg? Which freeze well and how do you preserve quality?

Yes. Blanch it first.

Thanks which veg worked, I bought frozen courgette but it tasted bitter. I also historically don't much like bought frozen carrot / cauliflower / broccoli. Does home frozen veg taste better ?

To coin a phrase "Peasaregood" Grin.
I'd prefer to freeze something where the original structure was robust - frozen courgettes aren't for me on this basis. That said, I am currently freezing some home grown tomatoes but that is with a view to making pasta sauce and dehydrating the skins for tomato powder- a bit specialist but I luvs my dehydrator.

I'm experimenting with freezing courgette in water. It's meant to stabilise the structure... we'll see...
(I have a glut)

I've also frozen runner beans. I make sure that they are as separate as possible for the first 24 hours in the freezer. I then jiggle the bag to put them back in a space saving lump but frozen separately, as it were.
