just had some free samples of kenco instant through the door and it is horrible - tastes like bad breath.

How do you do your coffee?

we have a stove top espresso thing and I have about 3 cups a day - makes me fly!

since drinking 'proper' coffee I hate instant.

I buy Lavazza. Best coffee I ever had was in Spain.

I like my coffee like I like my men - bitter.

I buy whole beans and grind them as and when I make coffee. 'Tis the only way.
We use a plunger, but have a proper coffee machine on our wish list

Can't stand instant.

I did the beasn thing but the coffee always tastes a bit 'fruity' and not musty enoguh.

Also the sound of the grinder thing in the morning is a bit too much.

Kenco is very very nasty indeed, that's why they're giving it away free through your door. We don't do instant - and we both work at home and drink huge amounts of coffee - we do cafetiere thing with many scoops of coffee in. We are both a bit wired though.

GrumpyOldHorsewoman · 06/06/2007 10:52

I get the Fair Trade Organic from Taylors of Harrogate for the office machine, and everyone loves it. Medium roast - I always put a bit extra in cos I like a stronger flavour.

BishyBarneyBee · 06/06/2007 10:53

problem with cafteirere thing is the coffee is ALWAYS cold.

I stopped drinking milk when I saw a correction in the guardian a couple of years ago

said something like

'we mistakenly said that a glass of milk contains 6o million plus cells

this should have read 60 milliom PUS cells'

put me off

tea and coffee are much nicer without

sorry, is this a hijack?

lilolilmanchester · 06/06/2007 10:55

we don't find our coffee from cafetiere is cold (but always put the milk in the mugs and microwave so milk is hot rather than cold. Might help?)

We have a small hand held grinder. Open tin of coffee beans. Scoop 3 scoops into grinder. Press button. Pour grounds into plunger.

Not that much more taxing than opening bag of ground coffee, putting 3 scoops into plunger ...

Takes about 5 seconds longer.

And not loud.
