Lacto-Free Milk

A friend is lactose intolerant and I was thinking of attempting to make lasagne using lacto-free milk for the white sauce. Does anyone know if that works, or if there are any pitfalls I should avoid? I've not tried cooking with milk alternatives before!

Arla Lactofree milk is just ordinary cows milk with the enzyme added. It works the same as other milks. Arla also make lactofree cheddar cheese.(They are not milk alternatives)

Lactofree milk is just milk with an enzyme to digest the lactose. It has exactly the same properties as ordinary cows milk when it comes to cooking.

Remember to also check the cheese if you are using it for the topping.

I suspected it was something like that, but wanted to check first before doing something that wasn’t going to work. Thanks all!

Yup the lacto free milk and cheese work just the same as ‘normal’ milk and cheese in white or cheese sauce.

Yes, just substitute it. You won't be able to tell the difference.
You can use Lactofree milk or I found out today that M&S also sell a lactose free milk.
