you could ask think alot of it is imported, you could find a farm shop that you will get fresh local farm goods

was thinking about the farm box things but i dont like the thought of not knowing exactly what is in them and that you might get a load of stuff ive not even heard of. I dont have a lot of money so would like to know exactly what im getting iyswim

we got a few farm shops by us an you just buy what you want whether its a carrot or a bit of everything you want you should find ads for them in your local paper or in phone book good luck

Sat market veg might still be imported..eg currently cherries and soft fruits unlikely to be UK. But often the fruit and veg is displayed in the market boxes saying where it's from.

Also if you use your local market then you are shopping local and supporting the community and not giving your cash to tescos etc so that is a good thing. Also market veg usually much cheaper than the supermarkets. As you say you also have the advantage of knowing what you are buying and buying what you want.

Some of the organic veg box schemes do have some imported items also. The only way to avoid imported is to eat only seasonal fruit and veg which is worthy but can be a little dull...also you would never be able to eat bananas or chillies or peppers or...

Our market is local produce apart from the Strawberries which are clearly marked on the punnet boxes.

So much cheaper than supermarkets.

On Tuesday I got a pound of cherries, punnet of strawberries, 2 bunches of watercress, a punnet of necterines and satsumas for £7.
I thought that was a real bargain.

plenty is imported, but some stalls really highlight on the labels where things come from (eg "Spanish tomatoes, xxxp/lb" instead of it being in little writing).
