How much should a 3 year old be drinking?

Ds is on fluids strike! He needs to drink a fair bit, because he's catheterised twice a day, and it helps keep infections away, but he hasn't been drinking very much for the last few days. It's made him constipated, and he's up at the moment with stomach ache. Does anyone know exactly (or vaguely!) how much a 3 year old should be drinking?

have you tried making juice lollies or jelly your ds wont even notice hes taking in fliuds, what have you tried getting him to drink?

Squash, water, juices, smoothies - he won't even look at milk. He does eat ice lollies occasionally. God, no-one said it'd be this bloody difficult! Surely he must FEEL thirsty!

GS is four and has only one kidney - he's supposed to drink fairly constantly in order to keep the kidney 'flushed out' - but some days it seems that he has hardly anything. Perhaps a small cup with his breakfast and then he might go whilst lunchtime before he asks for a drink. Never wants one whan I just do him one or ask if he wants a drink. SO I'l be watching this thread with interest.
