Pressure cooker or steamer or something else?

Hello,

If I want to cook plain ol’ chicken and vegetables, put it in and leave it til it’s done, would a pressure cooker be best, or a an electric steamer? I eat rice regularly, so think a pressure cooker would be best as I think it would double as a rice cooker. A steamer will cook meat/fish at the same time, but will a pressure cooker? I only seem to be able to find stew type dishes to cook in a pressure cooker, whereas I don’t want it cooked in a sauce. Is there anything else I haven’t thought of?

Why not a gadget like the Sage fast and Slow - it is a steamer, rice cooker, pressure cooker, and slow cooker in one.

I agree that a gadget that can be used as a steamer/rice cooker/ slow cooker.

You can cook meat in a pressure cooker, trivet in the bottom, small chicken on trivet, veg in metal dish thing on top.

It might also be worth checking Argos, they sometimes have 3 for 2 on kitchen gadgets, that's how I ended up with a rice cooker, which I do use. But it does take up cupboard space.

Oh and I'm not sure about rice in a pressure cooker - I think it would turn to mush.

OMG I have just google 'pressure cooker' and it came up with something showing you how to make a bomb!

Actually, cooking rice in a pressure cooker is the preferred method in South Korea. It doesn't turn it to mush.
