Pumpkin Seeds, what do you do with them

So I've watched 'You are what you eat', and notice that for every ill, Dr Gillian Thingy recommends a diet including pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds etc.

Now as dh is v. overweight (I'm losing mine nicely), and we both could do with boosting energy levels (and s*x drive), I thought I'd give it a try.
But what do you do with these things?

sprinkle them on top of your cereal or yoghurt.
Or eat them on their own as a snack.

No, but just raw out of the packet, cooked, toasted, what?

And is there a way of making them taste nice?

you can eat them as they come or roasted. If you buy them ready roasted then they'll have a fat content but I dont think they are sold 'raw' as such. I think they have all been cooked in some way although i may well be wrong (ours just get emptied into a big tupperware so I cant check the packaging to see.

My dad's girlfriend introduced us to this toasted seeds recipe. It's easy, yummy (addictive, in fact), great as a nibble with drinks, and the kids love it.

What you do is toast some pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds and pine nuts in a frying pan (with no oil), stirring often, until they are starting to brown and are very fragrant. Then you take the pan off the heat and drizzle in just a bit of soy sauce. Just enough to lightly coat them. The soy sauce will sizzle. Then just serve them.

The proprtions of each type of seeds are up to you. Pine nuts are yummy, but more expensive than the others.

Glad you asked Easy as kate's recipe sounds yummy and I get bored with just eating them as they come.

I always collect all the seeds out of the pumpkins I hollow out for Halloween. Dry them and roast them. Can be a bit of a pain as they have an outer shell which you have to remove, but they are lovely roasted or grilled.
