Am I going to have to throw it out?

I cooked three pieces of lamb on Friday night, but for various reasons DD and DH didn't eat it.

It's been iin the fridge since then, covered over, but I completely forgot to do anything with it so I could refreeze.

I am going to have to through them away aren't I?

No.

I'd eat them. I keep lamb that I've cooked for at least a working week.

beckybrastraps · 20/05/2007 22:32

Nah. It'll be fine.

Frizbe · 20/05/2007 22:33

lamb sarnies tomorrow!

moondog · 20/05/2007 22:33

Pass em to me.I'll eat them.
(They'll be fine.)

Friday !

It'll keep till at l;east wednesday. we've just eaten some chicken that was cooked last Friday. I'll let you know if we get ill.

colditz · 20/05/2007 22:34

No don't be silly. I think you get about five days with cooked lamb! Curry it, it'll be lovely.

The 3 day rule is for poultry, and entirely different kettle of fish when it comes to bacteria.

colditz · 20/05/2007 22:35

Crikey, lamb sarnies, bellyache in a bun!

Hulababy · 20/05/2007 22:35

Really? So they have them tomorrow night then?

Would be real shame to throw them out. Even as a non-meat eater they look very nice. Came from local farm shop last week.

Hmmm...now what to do with them as DH isn't so keen on lamb cold. Maybe a curry? Or...?

Curry or reheated with veggies and gravy or a lamb casserole?

colditz · 20/05/2007 22:37

Curry curry curry!

Hulababy · 20/05/2007 22:38

Might have to be lamb curry then. Can make it mild for DD and then heat it up later for DH.

Mind you this lamb and rice stew sounds okay and very easy too.

I cannot use tinned toms in anything now because ds1 has shifted his toddler Fear Of Green to Fear Of Red

Hulababy · 20/05/2007 22:55

Oh no, nightmare! Is fear of red easier to deal with than fear of green? Eeeek.

OP posts:
colditz · 20/05/2007 22:56

No, because tinned tomatoes used to be my base for sauces, and I would shove lovely red pepers in. Sometimes I do it anyway and let him throw a dicky fit about it, or leave his pasta plain for him.

he's four

colditz · 20/05/2007 22:57

But he does eat carrots and broccoli, bananas and apples, so not bad.

DimpledThighs · 20/05/2007 22:59

lol colditz

colditz · 20/05/2007 23:05

Problem is now he is four I don't get screaming tantrums, I get a lecture-like explanation (can't think where he leant that) and some snotty boy-sobs.

Like "When someone is hungry mummy, you have to give them something they like to eat, that hasn't got bits of red on it "
