Can I turn plain flour into SR by adding baking powder??

And if so, how much? What would be the correct ratio?

I used to add a teaspoon per 100g .

yeah. according to my tub of baking powder, add 4 level tsps of bakking powder to each 8oz of flour.

If you look on the instructions on the side of your baking powder tin (if it has instructions) you should find the correct ratio - it all depends on what type of cake/scone you are baking.

It never occured to me to look on the side of the BP tin! But I put 4tsp in, like wurly said, and it appears to have worked a treat! I just need to wait for them to cool, and try one to see if it tastes right! (for research purposes only, you understand )
