Kenwood versus Kitchenaid

I purchased a Kenwood chef classic a couple of years ago. My husband said are you sure you want a Kenwood or a Kitchenaid. No I said Kenwood have a far better reputation than the kitchenaid and my mother swore by them, well I have to say I should have listening to my husband. I am not really a baker and it is hardly used but it is not very good and I am so disappointed. When I contacted them they said it may need a service. Rubbish, I think this will go in the bin.

Had mine 5 years. Love it. Does everything I need so easily. Use it all the time. Only time I ever had a problem was user error but still sent replacements. Maybe your unlucky. What do you use it for?

I chose a Kenwood chef titanium over a kitchenaid and I don't regret it. I use it every week and always get good results from it. What are the issues you have with it?

I've still got my Nan's Kenwood from c.1973. Part of me wants to upgrade to a shiny new one but it's still going strong so I would feel like I was betraying it!

As with so many things it's likely the new ones are much poorer quality.

I was bought a Kenwood, tried it by turing it on and then off, left it in the box for months then wanted to do some major batch cake baking and found it turned on then turned off by itself after 20 seconds, sent it back for repair and it still didn't work, kicking myself for not refusing it and demnanind a new one or money back because I sent it of again and they sent it back without cushioning the plug so it now has a HUGE scratch and other nasty scratches on it and the retailer and the manufacturer both deny responsibility will not replace.

I have a Kenwood Chef, bought it because my nan had one for years and it never let her down. I've been baking so much more since I got it, great results almost every time, in fact the only time it 'failed' was my fault anyway. I've made bread, cakes, meringues and pizza bases in mine, I love it.
