Is this really the best for 9m old DS2 - or just the most expensive?!
Can I give him another fromage frais or yoghurt?

I give dd organic yeo valley- far less ingredients and far more natural than petit filous.

tinytoes · 08/08/2004 14:49

it has a little less sugar than some ,other main brand i think look in ingredient list fruit puree should be before sugar(its not in a lot of them)
yeo valley ones are nicer but i find the size of pf handier

Lisa78 · 08/08/2004 16:42

how much is the yeo valley one?

Hi Lisa78, I don't think they're that bad. Our local Asda doesn't sell organic yoghurts so I buy Petit Filous. They're not ideal and do contain sugar but they're the best I can get locally sometimes.

Wildlife and Thomas the tank engine FF are mede by the same company - yoplait? Once dd and ds were onto solids properly I started giving them Wildlife when Petit Filous weren't on special offer. Of course I don't know whether it is falso economy or not as Petit Filous come in 60g tubs and the others in 40 or 50g!

We use organic soya based infant yogs (Provamel yofu jr), but they are a similar price to petite filous. She sometimes has normal full fat yogs and I think they are fine.

buy in bulk the yeo valley large punnets and tip in baby jar or homemade fruit jars.
Much cheaper and tastier and IMHO healthier
I got dd on to homemade yogs of late...

You can give him any yoghurt or fromage frais you like. I do give ds petit filous because he likes them and I don't think a bit of sugar is the root of all evil. Even organic yoghurts contain sugar (except poss one brand) or if you really don't want your child to have sugar you can mash fruit into ordinary plain yoghurt or fromage frais. All Rachel's organic yoghurts are lovely, I think.
