Does the cost of dry herbs indicate quality?

I was shopping recently for some dry herbs, and I saw a varied price range for what is essentially the same thing. Do you get a better product by paying more or is the price simply for the brand it is attached to?

I'm my experience- mostly no. With some exceptions- cheap paprika is pointless, ready mixed garam masalas, zaaatar, cinnamon sticks are better, garlic/onion salts.

Cumin, coriander, turmeric, ginger etc and dried herbs are much of a muchness imo

Think I agree with what. I’ve stopped buying branded ones and either get them from the local Asian store, the market or Lidl. Honestly can’t tell the difference.

DH used to work for a large spice manufacturer. They also packed supermarket brands. In particular Aldi, Waitrose and Lidl were really hot on quality - they were the same quality as the big brand.
