Help we are fridge-less - any quick meal ideas for dd?

Have no idea how long it will take to find a fridge that fits (integrated fridge) and its dawned on me even veggie cooked food can't be kept without a fridge.

Usually I batch cook/leave leftovers for some of dd's meals Mon-Thurs as our babysitter then heats them up after school.
With various after school activities there isn't much time to cook - what can she make without a fridge?

So far I have pasta and veg. And maybe those rice pouches and veg. Or couscous and veg.
And tuna wrap (though have found all the salad, tomatoes etc has gone off v quickly without a fridge).
Am a bit Confused

Omelettes, cheesy beans on toast, jacket potatoes.

Oooh can I keep eggs and cheese out of the fridge? How long for?

They've currently been out of the fridge for 5 days....

Dd loves beans on toast. She'll be a bit Hmm about having it with broccoli but thems the breaks.

Sardines on toast
Tinned soup
Jars of sauce to serve with pasta, eg pesto.

Eggs are fine stored at room temperature, as is butter, (and cheese for some days).

Heinz do a range called creationz that are basically a tinned range of flavoured beans and pulses such as veggie chilli, chickpea tagine, lentil dhal. All are quite tasty and make a meal served with rice or cous cous.

Tinned fish like salmon, tuna, sardines are all great - you can buy them in sauce and either have with a jacket potato, mixed through pasta or with coucous
Another option could be batch cooking and then freezing (if you have a separate freezer?) and just take a portion out each day

Thanks all, will investigate.
No freezer either.

I think we're going to have to get a different size fridge and have new doors made. What a faff!

Have you got a freezer? You can batch cook and put meals in tin foil tubs to bob in the oven? Or is your freezer part of your frifge?

BeanFobbedOff · 16/03/2018 20:52

It's cold outside - could you put a few bits like broccoli and cheese in a plastic box outside in the shade?

DontDrinkDontSmoke · 16/03/2018 20:54

Pasta with a tomato, garlic and basil sauce.

scrappydappydoo · 16/03/2018 20:59

Could you get hold of a small fridge just 2nd hand off eBay/Freecycle/Facebook as a temporary measure just to store a couple of bits in that could open up your options. Even if it's one of those novelty fridges it will do until you get proper fridge sorted.

Can the babysitter just pick stuff up on the way home? Pre prepared soup, resdy meals etc on a daily basis?

dameofdilemma · 18/03/2018 11:51

Hurrah for the snow, at least we can out some bits outside.
Am Sad at the wasted food though.
At least veg has been fine.
Apparently we should have a fridge by this evening....
