2.3 yr old - is quality of food ALWAYS better than quantity eaten

My dd used to be an excellent eater - ate a good range of mostly home-made foods. She has become fussy in the last 5 -6 months or so, which is nothing unusual I realise, just an age thing probably. Although she was never good at eating veg I could hide them in bolognaise sauce, shepherds pie etc.

Now, she still eats reasonably well, but any hint of a vegetable is rejected and the range of food she eats has narrowed down to 3 or 4 main meals, about 3 different types of fruit and NO veg except sweetcorn (sometimes). What she will eat in quantity is stuff like tinned macaroni cheese (hurl!), sausages etc. I didn't think there was anything wrong in giving these things and she'd been having them occasionally when she did eat other stuff, but now it's every week, sometimes twice and I feel a bit guilty about it, but I reason to myself that at least she's eating SOMETHING. Does anyone else have this problem?

My ds has gone through "waves", weaning was dreadful - felt as though he would never eat solids, then great range and great quantity for ages and now for about 6 months it is very hit and miss (2yrs 7mth). I do my best to provide a balance of healthy variety and stuff he will actually eat. I don't feel guilty if I break some of the rules but at the same time try to ensure I continue offering a wide range of foods that are healthy, tasty and nutritious at the same time iyswim

same as yawning, the vast majority is quality homecooked stuff with the occasional naughty thing here and there.

i do firmly believbe that eating a mouthful of something nutricious is a thousandfold better for her than a whole plate of crap.
