Tell me are bread makers worth the money?

I’m thinking of buying a bread maker but I don’t know how useful it would be and if so how easy are they to use? Or what ingredients you would need?

Would you say it’s better then just buying bread from shops?

Thanks in advance

I've got a malted loaf sitting rising in mine as I write, to go with tonight's chickpea and veg stew. Yum! I'd probably be lazy and buy from a bakery if I didn't live in a village in the back of beyond with only plastic wrapped sliced loaves in the shop and a once an hour bus service......

They're fab! We've had our Panasonic for 13 years. The quality of the bread is way above your average shop loaf. When I buy packet bread now I can smell chemicals on opening the packet.

Bitsy Grin far from it, I assure you. It took me years of failed dough to cop on, with the crock pot gathering dust right in front of my eyes.

I used to think so, and have had two or three bread machines over the last 15 years or so, but not now. I still make my own bread though - tastes so much better.

I use the the food processor now and just bake in the oven. It seems quicker and easier somehow!
