Hi all,

Please can you tell me which recipe books you genuinely use?
I've had loads on my shelf over the years but most hardly used.
The last one I bought was New York Cult Recipes. Not cooked anything but I do read it a lot!
Also love my big book of baking just to remind me of the basics!

Delia's complete cookery course for basics, Nigel Slater's 30 minute cook mainly for veg ideas, Nigella's kitchen goddess for baking. Madhur jaffrey's quick and easy indian and The World Food cafe cookbook also get a good look in.

quick question, I think I would like a Delia book but no idea which one! Something with straightforward family meals if possible, any recommendations?

AnnaMagnani · 29/01/2018 19:43

Loads of Delia stuff is on her website. I started out my cooking with Delia as it's failsafe but never needed to buy any books as she has so much on line.

It's all straightforward, she's great.

Thanks Anna I will start browsing! There is one recipe of hers that DH always cooks which is a Chicken Paprika casserole - its lovely!

MissEliza · 29/01/2018 21:45

Agreed Delia is the best. I learned so much from the How to Cook series.

ScreamingValenta · 29/01/2018 21:46

I got the Delia 'Complete Cookery Course' when I first left home and 20 years on it's still my most-used cookery book.

Delia’s Frugal Food is also good - not sure how frugal it really is though! Smile

How has nobody mentioned Tamasin Day Lewis- Kitchen Bible?

My absolute go-to.
