Can you freeze béchamel sauce?

I have a load of milk that passes it's use-by date tomorrow. No-one else to feed at home at the moment so I was thinking of making a batch of béchamel with it, and freezing it for future use.

Will that work?

Yes it freezes really well! I make cheesey bechamel sauce for macaroni cheese/lasagne in big batches and then flat freeze it in food bags. Then you can just pop in sink filled with warm water for 15mins or so to break it up and use :)
I’ve never had it go watery and it tastes just as good as fresh!

Thanks.

Not going to add cheese as only have posh cheese in & reckon I can add the cheese when I defrost it!

So, can you freeze cheese sauce then? Does this work better than freezing macaroni cheese 🤔?

I always double-up when making a batch of cheese sauce, freezes brilliantly (although do remember to label it, don't do what I once did and make cauliflower custard to go with Sunday lunch).
