We have to go out early, pretty much once our little boy has opened gifts and we have showered etc, so wondering what a nice quick easy breakfast would be but something a little different as it's special day Grin

I rarely manage to eat breakfast but saw a cheap and cheerful Christmas brioche in Aldi in the shape of a Christmas tree if you want quick and easy too so I hope to be able to grab a mouthful of that. If more formal wanted what about scrambled egg with smoked salmon for adults.

mintmagnummm · 19/12/2017 07:45

Oh no definitely not formal we are riffraff 🤣

The kids are getting coco pops. It's possibly as exciting as Santa for them😂

I'll do fresh pain au chocolate and fruit for us.

Beetlebum1981 · 19/12/2017 07:48

We’re having bagels with smoked salmon & cream cheese. Like the idea of coco pops for kids, DD will much prefer those!

greenhairymonster · 19/12/2017 17:26

Fry up this year, no lunch - straight to dinner in the evening.

TheKnackeredChef · 19/12/2017 17:34

Always Eggs Benedict here.

Lndnmummy · 19/12/2017 18:28

Stupidly I started this thing where everyone can choose. Ds wants Nutella pancakes and hot chocklate. Dh wants smoked salmon and scrambled eggs on toasted bagel oh and avocado mash with chilli on the side. I think I will just have toast after cooking all that Blush

mintmagnummm · 19/12/2017 18:32

Oh bless u lndnmummy u deserve a nice breakfast after that!
Think I'm going to have fresh strawberries and raspberries with a cinnamon swirl Grin

I have some pastries in the freezer ready to go in the oven. I will probably make up a little fruit salad to go with them.

Longdistance · 19/12/2017 18:35

We have pastries for dds, and smoked salmon for us. Dds don’t like salmon cold.

Helpmeltb · 19/12/2017 18:36

Waitrose pastries - they come frozen. They're bloody delicious!

Lndnmummy · 19/12/2017 21:33

Oh I will get those Waitrose ones, thanks for the tip!

Cadburys Celebrations and a Bucks Fizz.

Sorry for double post. At least I got the make of crap chocs right on the second go.

CuthbertDibble · 19/12/2017 21:49

Scrambled egg and smoked salmon (chucked in with the eggs at the end as I’m not keen on slimy salmon) on toasted brioche.

ifonly4 · 20/12/2017 16:24

DD and DH always have to have their normal museli whatever and DD will then have a banana without fail. Then all of us will have a croissant and orange juice.

CurlyRover · 20/12/2017 16:29

Last year we had a full English breakfast. This year we're going out pretty early so having a sausage baguette. The Spar is open (sadly for the staff!) So we should be able to get a baguette in the morning.

ohtheholidays · 20/12/2017 16:52

I've bought some extra special croissants and extra special waffles, toffee crepes and chocolate crepes and Christmas shaped crumpets(there's 7 of us)I'll warm those and lay them out with a platter of cold meats and cheeses and everyone can help themselves that along side some Bucks Fizz,Juice,Hot chocolate(for the DC)and some nice coffee.

It should only take me 20 minutes to sort and there's something there for everyone.

Taffeta · 20/12/2017 16:54

The BEST frozen pastries are Picard ones - Ocado do them. They blow Waitrose ones out the water

This year, we are having toasted panettone. Lay it on its side to cut it so it fits in the toaster!

MiddlingMum · 20/12/2017 16:56

Nothing, or possibly a satsuma. Never hungry first thing and there will be plenty of food later.

gerbo · 20/12/2017 17:27

Croissants, orange juice, raspberries.

I have been given a small chocolate panettone. Never really eaten it - do I toast it?!?! With or without butter?

bushtailadventures · 20/12/2017 17:30

Kellogs Variety pack of cereal, each box wrapped up so it's a bit of a lucky dip! I started doing it when my dc were tiny, and the little packs were a novelty, now they are in their 20's and it's just a tradition that's stuck Smile
