I know that its potatoe and fish, but want to make my own bread crumbs as well, what do you use to mush it all together?

you boil the spuds and mash them
you fry the salmon then flake it
make breadcrumbs in food processor / by grating frozen breadlumps/ by drying out bread in oven and crushing in plastic bag
mix fish and spuds together with pepper, finely chopped spring onions / dill / chives / whatever.
Add a bit of beaten egg if it seems too dry but don't make it sloppy.
dip in beaten egg
dip in breadcrumbs
fry

OR

Buy puff pastry wrap a piece of salmon, bake at 200degrees for 20 minutes. Can brush fish with butter and lemon juice and a little paprika!

Not really fishcake, but delicious as the fish steams and is just fantastic.+

These fish cakes sounds yum, could I freeze them and if so before or after cooking and then how would I re-heat them?

MrsBadger · 17/04/2007 09:19

don't think I've ever frozen them before cooking, but if you did you'd have to defrost them before frying, don't cook from frozen.

Actually I probably wouldn't reheat pre-cooked ones from frozen either, but once thawed I bet you could do them in the oven rather than fry again.
