Are there any benefits to not changing to semi milk at 2?

IYSWIM? You know, they must have full cream till 2, can have semi then and can have skimmed at 5. So are there any benefits of just staying on the fc? There must be some, it can't just disappear on the eve of their 2nd birthday?!

surely some children benefit from extra calories - i know all about good and bad fat, but i also think low fat is silly for babies - my 'skinny' twin [2yrs] eats like a horse and i'm grateful for any way of getting more calories into him!

Agree with lucky plus some of the nutrients in milk are fat-soluble so skimming the fat off takes some of the goodness out. Fine for adults who need less fat in their diets, not so great for children who need more calories.
