I wouldn't put nesquick in - too many additives and icky stuff in it. Over 1 year old maybe, but probably nearer 2 and only as a treat (but then I'm a bit strict with drinks... )

Could you perhaps increase his dairy intake elsewhere? Does he like cheese? yoghurts? fromage frais?

suzywong · 14/07/2004 13:40

I wouldn't. To be honest.
It sends my 3 yr old bonkers for ten minutes after he's had it, must be the addtives and high sugar, so I wouldn't wish that in my baby's system

And it's made by Nestle

SoupDragon · 14/07/2004 13:42

I think the boots one was discontinued a while back. I vaguely remember them selling off the old tins at a discount.

jasper · 14/07/2004 15:09

it'll rot his teeth. Don't do it

Banana milkshake went down well with my little ones, ie a ripe banana whizzed up in a blender with milk.

CountessDracula · 14/07/2004 15:20

or whizz up with any soft fruit.

I didn't know nesquick was even made any more!

Janh · 14/07/2004 15:25

v popular in my house

(I got it when we had Chernobyl child staying for the first time 2 years ago; they don't drink milk there, because of the radiation, but it is good for them to have it here, so it was suggested we encourage them with Nesquik. It worked but unfortunately worked on mine too!)

Janh · 14/07/2004 15:27

what about drinking chocolate for Musa's DS? You can make that up cold - maybe make it into a paste with a bit of warm water first - and it's not as additive-laden I don't think.

MUSA · 14/07/2004 15:38

Banana milk probably won't work in a bottle as it'll be too thick and block the teat. A beaker with large holes and without any fancy valves would work better. Or you can just let them sip from a cup (holding it yourself, obviously)!

You don't have to use banana, strawberries or other soft fruit work well too. If you want to make it thicker and feed with a spoon, then use less milk, or use yoghurt as well/instead.

There's no magic trick to it, just play around and find out what works for you.

MUSA · 14/07/2004 16:07

thanks alot for your advice, i will play around with it.
