Quick! Any reason why I shouldn't cook a frozen pack of fresh mince without defrosting it?

I've just gone to start dinner and realised I've forgotten mince!! I have a pack of fresh lean lamb mince in the freezer but obviously no time to dfrost... can I just stick it in the pan as if it were a bag of frozen mince?

I have done in the past - you get frozen burgers and stuff - it is not like it is chicken.

Agree with others-think it would be fine.
Wouldn't take chances with pork or chicken.

I do, if it's the packet mince that is seperated.

I read thread title as "Any reason why I shouldn't cook a frozen pack of fresh mice" and wondered why you needed to ask...

ChasingRabbits · 04/04/2007 17:50

I do it, that or defrost in the m/wave, which always results in cooked bits.

laughingduck · 04/04/2007 17:51

I do the same as chasingrabbits. None of us have died yet.

The adverts on TV for NZ lamb say that you can cook joints from frozen, so I don't see why mince would be any different!

BefnalBunny · 04/04/2007 18:01

no its fine - as long as it gets cooked through!
