How do we make it to lunchtime?

I have started to wean DS and at present he is having one meal a day which is at 11am.
My question is this - how do I make him stretch to 12noon for this feed.
He currently has a bottle of 9oz at 7am then another 4oz at 10.45am followed by food and then I'll offer more milk if he wants it.
Will I be able to make him wait a bit longer once breakfast is introduced?
Sorry if I'm stating the obvious or sounding a bit thick but DS is my first and whenever I ask my mum about these things she says "Oh, it's such a long time ago, I can't remember what I did."
Thanks

I reckon once he's eating his ReadyBrek or whatever he will stretch a bit longer but, I find that we eat lunch at about 11.30-12 anyway with my DSs (2y6m and 10m)just because they're really hungry by then. They have breakfast at 7-8am (depending on what ungodly time they wake up!)
Don't know if that helps but I know it's such a muddle when you're trying to combine the milk and solids bit - it will probably fall inot a pattern as you get more into it!

I fall slightly into the I can't remember group and I only started a few months ago! My memory is rotting away I think!

I experimented alot with times and feeding milk and food together and seperatley. My DS has his breakfast at different times so lunch also varies, I still do this at 11.30 sometimes if have to. I found it easier to give the milk first and 10.30 or 11 and then the food at lunchtime. I then did the same in the afternoon. It meant that I was either giving him milk or food every few hours! But it wasn't long before he was eating enough so that I could drop the morning milk feed altogether.

Try different things though, it will be different for different babies and different lifestyles.

What makes you want to stretch to 12pm for the feed? My dd's 21 months and still can't last til 12pm for lunch / nap so she has breakfast around 7.30 / 8ish and lunch is between 11-11.30 depending how tired she is. She needs to go for her nap not much later than 12ish or she's shattered, too tired to eat.

I found that once I introduced breakfast that I could push lunch back. So now at 7.5mos ds has full b/f at 7, breakfast at 8, lunch somewhere between 11.45 and 12.15. But before introducing breakfast ds was starving by 11. Good luck.

I've never managed to get to a 12noon lunchtime and ds1 is two and a half! Its tiredness though not hunger that is the limiting factor.
You may find that your ds can go longer when breakfast is introduced. Or in a few months you could introduce a midmorning snack and/or bottle or cup of milk. You'll work something out around his sleep and hunger patterns....but it might not end up with 'conventional' mealtimes! Certainly in the early stages of weaning I'd just go with when he seems to be hungry even if it does seem a bit bizarre to you.

I think the reason I want DS to eat closer to 12 is because other babies seem to!
But as you have posted that your babies do not I will not worry anymore!
As much as I try to go with the flow I can't help being influenced by the mums at M&B group.
