I am looking for ideas for snacks that have a long shelf life for teenagers. We own a butchers /greengrocers so always have fruit and veg, but this means we only do a monthly supermarket shop. Any ideas welcome although not tinned fish as they don't like tuna, and one doesn't like cheese.

Bread products freeze well, wholemeal pittas with humous (v quick to make homemade) crumpets and muffins. Popcorn, roasted chickpeas, cheese and crackers (or buttered crackers for non cheese eater), rice cakes, breadsticks and dip, porridge or cereal, the ready made pots of custard and rice pudding, could you bake and freeze savoury muffins?

Beans on toast (bread kept in the freezer) is quick and simple -as are scrambled / boiled eggs
I keep teacakes/hot cross buns/crumpets (i rotate them) in the freezer and one of those toasted and with butter and jam/honey goes down well
If you have easy access to fruit then i'm guessing they could make smoothies
Cereal is a great one - either just with milk or I quite often mix it with yoghurt for something a bit different - although it doesn't work with all cereals - granola, all-bran, bran flakes are good though
And malt loaf - whether you make one yourself or just buy one is good to have on hand - either one of the big ones or the little snack size ones
