Does anyone still make suet pudding?

Really just a query. I love them, and have a book full of recipes published by the Pudding Club. However, in recent years I've found it harder to find suet and have now resorted to a special arrangement with the butcher.

Am I the last one left, and has suet pudding gone the same way as mangles, stays, tripe and kaolin & morphine?

Oh my gosh- syrup sponge pudding made with vegetable suet is my absolute favourite ever. I still ask my parents to make it when I'm round for a roast. YUM!!!

I make syrup pudding. I still see ATORA suet everywhere. I am veggie now so I use veg suet which is not quite as good. Long live stodge I say.

You can buy it dried in the supermarket. Usually in the baking aisle. I don't use it much, but have definitely done so in the last 12 months. Sussex pond pudding.... mmmmmmmm

Sussex pond is v nice.

I have to say that I use actual suet. Probably shortens my life, but enriches what's left!

Have you used Atora suet? Available at supermarkets, beef or vegetable. Suet puddings are not especially popular at home here, but dumplings are always welcomed!

DP loves suet puddings so I do make the odd one in winter. Didn't know that beef Atora wasn't actual suet though Blush

I'm in NZ. Can get Atora veg substitute at vast expense from specialist UK food shops, but no other sort.

Real suet vanished from all supermarkets about 3 years ago.

It is alive and well in my home. I'm uk based and always have a packet in

Tonic, Atora beef suet is 85 per cent beef fat, according to the label. Rest is flour and vitamins
