are slowly turning blackish in my kitchen. What can I do with them? Anyone have a recipe?

bake them with maple syrup or brandy and serve with ice-cream. Or banana loaf/muffins ...

Try this

schneebly · 20/03/2007 08:27

here?

Beetrootccio · 20/03/2007 08:28

you can freeze them - and then make a cake or something

SSShakeTheChi · 20/03/2007 08:36

Ooh thank you! I have printed them all out and I'll go and peruse the recipes . Nice word peruse. I SO detest bananas having grown up with a whole orchard of the things that I never eat them. Dd isn't keen either but dh likes them, always buys them and then leaves them to rot in the kitchen. I see you can put dark chocolate in with the mixture then it doesn't taste so much like banana.

So, I'll have a bash at banana bread then. Muchas gracias !

Try these, from Tim Malzer, made them the other day and they were great and dead easy!

2 Bananen, vollreif
400 g Mehl
2 EL brauner Zucker
Öl für die Bratpfanne
1 Msp. Salz
frische Muskatnuss

You just mix all together with a mixer and tehn fry in shallow oil abit like drop scones for 2 minutes each side.

Lullabyloo · 20/03/2007 08:54

use them in a flapjack mix
banana & apple loaf
smoothie
banana & blueberry pancakes
banana & coconut cookies
in porridge
??????????????????????????????????????????

admylin, that sounds good, but I'm not sure of my translation!
2 Bananen, vollreif (2 ripe nanas?)
400 g Mehl (flour?)
2 EL brauner Zucker (brown sugar - I assume the L is for loffel, what size is 'E'?)
Öl für die Bratpfanne (oil for frying pan?)
1 Msp. Salz (salt- what is Msp?)
frische Muskatnuss (nutmeg?)

I'd like to do these for dd as I always buy her bananas but she doesn't always eat them, leaving sad black bananas in this house, as well

admylin · 20/03/2007 12:19

Sorry I forgot to translate! They are tasty eaten warm like fritters but cold were OK too.

2 Bananen, vollreif - 2 ripe bananas
400 g Mehl - 400g flour
2 EL brauner Zucker - 2 tablespoons brown sugar
Öl für die Bratpfanne - oil for frying pan
1 Msp. Salz - pinch of salt (Msp is the tip of the knife!)
frische Muskatnuss - nutmeg

Thanks admylin, I didn't see your recipe on time. I tried the banana loaf but I didn't have normal sugar so made it with brown sugar instead. Haven't tried it myself. Smug-on-a-diet emoticon...

Dd had 3 slices so it must be ok. Found it smelt a bit sickly baking though. But then I find the smell of bananas sickly anyway.

I've printed that recipe out for next time.
