Please help me with suggestions for an acceptable bottled kids drink...

...as a popular (with kids) alternative to a regular frootshoot. All suggestions welcome for an alternative, preferably without artificial colours, flavouring and especially sweeteners. There must be one, apart from plain old water of course.

Thanks clumsymum - that's a great suggestion.

capri sun - Water, Orange Juice from Concentrate (10%), Sugar, Citric Acid, Natural Flavours, Antioxidant (Asorbic Acid).

caprisun 100% juice - 100% Pure apple juice from concentrate

(and thanks for your support too - my last 3 kids parties, i have had mini bottles of water, coz it balances out all the sugary party food, but this is different as its a social event).

What about these? No fridge needed.

Thanks crumpet, they look quite appealing - that website has a table comparing soft drinks here too.

Thanks everyone for your help. My starting position will be as justustwo put it - what's wrong with offering pure juice or water. And I also have a couple of alternative products to suggest if necessary.

admylin-sparkling water is apparently bad for teeth.I have a few dentist friends and they were horrified when I gave some to ds.

clumsymum · 19/03/2007 12:15

Also, quite a lot of small kids don't like fizzy drinks, even water.
DS is 7, and actually gags if he tries sparkling water.

Makes me cross that his Beavers group often take nasty cheap fizzy drinks (that 'orrible Panda stuff) when they go on outings. I have to remember to send ds with his water bottle or Capri-sun

sparkling water is essentially carbonic acid:

H2O +CO2=H2CO3=H+ + HCO3-

it dissolves the enamel on yer teeth!

trillium · 19/03/2007 12:28

Gawd, I drink at least 2 litres of sparkling water every day.

I never knew that it was bad for your teeth.

Looks like I'll have to sway to still water

I bought Tropicana Go once and it made my dcs cough.

Buzz lightyear and the INcredibles fruit smoothies are fantastic - just orange juice, apple juice, crushed banana and mango or strawberry.

ChippyMinton · 19/03/2007 13:52

I'd forgotten about those smoothies - DS1 has them in his lunchbox sometimes.
