Just that really. Trying to be more healthy and trying to drink more smoothies. Just looking for simple and more cost effective ideas and any interesting combinations I should try Easter Smile

This is one of my favourites
You can use frozen or tinned fruit, I usually use frozen.

@MusicToMyEars800 I'm intrigued Smile What else do you add to the tinned fruit? So far I've made mango lassis using fresh mangoes and have used tinned mangoes in the past and also have made date smoothies. I have also used muesli in the past when I was out of oat flakes Blush

I have one of these for either breakfast or lunch:

Chocolate smoothie
I cup kale
1 cup blueberries
2 tablespoons oats
2 cups milk/yoghurt
Handful ice cubes
1 teaspoon honey
1 teaspoon peanut butter
2 teaspoons cocoa powder
(I sometimes put a teaspoon of coffee in for a caffeine kick)

Green smoothie
1 cup kale
1 cup pineapple
2 tablespoons oats
2 cups milk/yoghurt
Squeeze lime/lemon
Half avocado
1 teaspoon honey
Handful ice

I get small bags, portion up the kale, blueberries and pineapple and put them in the freezer. It takes a lots less time to make the smoothie

I always get the frozen fruit as it is a lot cheaper

DCs favourite smoothies are v quick and easy:
Frozen banana, milk and dash of vanilla extract.
Frozen mango / banana and milk (dairy, nut or coconut all work well)

Tinned peaches in juice, fresh strawberries, orange juice and ice.

MusicToMyEars800 · 03/06/2017 10:46

I love using tinned Black cherries with the juice it comes in, Add in ice or other frozen berries, and add juice or dairy, depending on what sort of smoothie you like. For breakfast smoothies I use milk, peanut butter, cocoa powder, oats and banana, or blueberries, bananas and oats. I use honey or agave as natural sweetners.

I am cutting fresh Japanese Spinach leaves from those growing trays of leaves you can buy at lidl. There brilliant cos they stay fresh. I throw them into smoothies all the time. They are really good for you apparently.

The easiest one I do = natural yoghurt, plus a tin of peaches, pineapples or mangoes, bit of milk if it needs thinning.Always easy to shove a banana or two in too!

Banana and peanut butter milkshake, with a scoop of vanilla icecream, is gorgeous - maybe not quite so healthy though!
