Non ham sandwich fillings

I seem to eat ham sandwiches everyday. I would like to eat less red meat, but can't really think of any non meat filings that aren't cheese. Am on a diet so cheese / houmous daily prob isn't ideal...

Any inspiration out there?!

Tuna mayonnaise

Surely a bit of cheese or hummus is fine unless you are on a seriously low fat diet? How about tuna, egg, smoked salmon, chicken, cottage cheese?

toastedbeagle · 24/05/2017 14:01

Hmm I do like tuna mayo. Not eggs though. Or cottage cheese!

chicken
salmon with low fat cream cheese
egg mayo
prawns
you can always switch from mayo to sweet chilli sauce
I like my sandwiches toasted, so normally I would have seeded bread, avocado, prawns with either mayo or sweet chilli sauce and spinach, watercress and rocket. this filling works with chicken too.

Turkey/chicken salad?

MusicToMyEars800 · 24/05/2017 14:02

Just seen you don't like egg so ignore that suggestion.

Egg mayo with low fat Mayo
Would maybe trying something like pasta etc be an option

Chewbecca · 24/05/2017 21:43

I virtually never have ham in my sandwiches.
Egg, cream cheese & celery, roast beef & beetroot, chicken with beetroot, salad, coleslaw or pickle, prawns, tuna, smoked salmon.

Roast Mediterranean veg (with or without hummus or mozzarella)
Falafel, mint yogurt and salad leaves
Pesto, satay or tikka chicken
Veggie sausage
Red pepper and artichoke (both from a jar)
Grilled pepper/courgette/aubergine
Banh mi
Pulled jackfruit/squash
