Sounds yummy - does she definitely like prawns though? Some people are funny about shellfish.

Marina · 16/03/2007 11:49

Could you saute some pak choi in garlic and ginger to serve with the delicious but rather warm-coloured curry maybe

DrMarthaMcMoo · 16/03/2007 11:50

Definitely beer.

Marina · 16/03/2007 11:50

Yes, my dsis eats "fish" but not prawns

DrMarthaMcMoo · 16/03/2007 11:50

Can I come? I like prawns, and pak choi and BEER.

puddle · 16/03/2007 11:51

Little thai fish cakes?

Have to say I don't eat meat but do eat fish and am funny about shellfish (to back up moo's point).

Enid · 16/03/2007 11:51

They must have some cabbagey/chard-ey equivalent in Thailand though? Purple sprouting sounds lush though

DrMarthaMcMoo · 16/03/2007 11:53

Can you ring and check she likes curry? My soon-to-be SIL doesn't like curry. Of any kind. Weird.

Enid · 16/03/2007 11:54

will buy pak choi then do a mix with the broccoli

Erm, don't you need something like a Thai equivalent of raita? A pickly or salady bit?

DrMarthaMcMoo · 16/03/2007 11:56

But you will have to smile sweetly through gritted teeth and pretend that uber-hostesses such as yourself are not thrown in the slightest by having to come up with a new menu at a few hours' notice.

krabbiepatty · 16/03/2007 11:58

If curry a no, could convert to a prawn and squash risotto plus green salad?

Enid · 16/03/2007 12:00

krabbie: greek yogurt with cucumber and tomato?

taylormama · 16/03/2007 12:01

enid - you could add some mint as well to the raita - how about tropical fruit salad - always nice after curry and easy ...

DrMarthaMcMoo · 16/03/2007 12:01

I've just had a google for a Thai equivalent to raita, krabbiepatty (can't find one, dippy type accompaniments seem to be spicy - lime, ginger, fish sauce type concoctions) but look there's a satay dish called moo!

krabbiepatty · 16/03/2007 12:01

Sounds lovely to me, Enid. Not sure about authenticity but who cares?

krabbiepatty · 16/03/2007 12:02

Moo satay, hehehe

Enid · 16/03/2007 12:03
