Dry recipes for two year old - need inspiration!

DS1 won't eat anything wet - no sauces, no mash, no scrambled eggs etc.

He also dislikes food mixed up together so won't eat e.g. Stir fry mixed up, although he might eat the various vegetables and noodles separately.

I am running out of ideas! Can anybody give me some inspiration for toddler friendly dry meals? Bonus points for including chicken and/or being easy to cook....

Toad in the hole? Batter, sausages and veg on the side is all dry. The wet gravy is the best bit though!

Chicken breast with sweet potato wedges?
Could you wrap them in bacon or stuff with cheese?
I do chicken breast chopped up in the oven with herbs and a squeeze of lemon to keep it from being mega dry

Chicken drumsticks, chicken breast, sausages, roasts. Fish fingers? Fried or boiled eggs?

Roast potatoes, potato wedges, Yorkshire pudding, noodles, pasta. Rice?

Pancakes? American or crêpes. Get some milk and egg in him.

Fish cakes perhaps, though he doesn't like mash the crispy coating might tempt him.

Vegetable fritters, (grated courgette or sweetcorn work well) or bought vegetable bakes, the ones that look like fishcakes! Smile

Chicken or fish goujons.

Chicken and or vegetable kebabs.

Fried or grilled halloumi.

Oh toddlers Grin
Mine likes fish or chicken goujons, sticks if cheese, peas (even cold ones for some reason), toast fingers, oatcakes, pieces of omlette (especially if pesto is involved somehow)

However as with all toddlers this list changes weekly HmmWink

Oh and we took him to Nando's and he HOOVERED the mild lemon and lime chicken, I couldn't prise it off him! So maybe grilled chicken strips with a tasty marianadr or rub?

He also adores cooked peeled prawns, and pasta served 'dry' with just a bit of cheese and butter rather than a sauce.

(Luckily he also likes 'wet' foods but these are his 'dry' favourites off the top of my head Grin)

Just give him what you eat and don't make a fuss, don't try and force feed or make a deal over it. Keep trying meals that have been rejected.

I don't say there's anything my toddler dislikes because some days he may eat something and some not. I can't dictate to him when he should be hungry. Keep snacking to a minimum and lots of activity to build up an appetite. Keep drinks to just water to avoid filling themselves up.

I was an awful eater and I hated being forced to eat things knowing I was not hungry, I vowed not to make a fuss of food with DS and touch wood he's a pretty good eater now at nearly 3.

Thanks all - I've updated my meal plan to add in some of these so we'll see how we get on :)
