Don't know the answer but our DS3 has just started having dairylea with no adverse effects and he's 9 months. I spread about half the triangle on the bread as it's quite stoggy otherwise.

DS1 had it much earlier, again not sure if it was ok or not at that age but he loved it.

You can also get other spreadable cheese, Bel Payese (Sp ?) was one that my dd loved. It is sold in little rounds in supermarket cheese pick and mix areas.

We used it as a good finger food.

I gave it to DS1 who still likes it - onl yhaven't tried iton DS2 yet cos I haven't got round to it. I think it's fine for them

Don't know how you tried ordinary cheese with your DS, but DD (nearly 8 mths) likes to he;p herself to grated cheese from a bowl. It's small enough she can't choke, but hard enough to stay around for a bit. She@s had dairylea though.

Mtj Dairylea or cream cheese (philly) is fine for a 9mo, no prob at all. Don't dismiss regular cheese tho, he may return to it when a bit older/more able to chew.
