I am completely uninspired. I have a 6 year old and a 1 year old that can only have finger food ( so nothing sloppy or in a sauce).
Do f really want to give them fish fingers and potato waffles again - any ideas/inspiration?

Mine loved a Sunday dinner, any meat, Yorkshire puds, roasties and veg.

Fish cakes with sweet potato wedges, peas and sweetcorn.

Cheese on toast, with a selection of salad sticks.

Meatballs, with veg and pasta bows.

My little ones adores Yorkshire Pudding. He calls it Ockshire Pudding. We have it at least three times a week.

Stir fries are good too, can chop everything up to the size your lot likes. And my DD loved salmon, broccoli and pea noodles at that age. Sticky rice works well too as it's easy to pick up , you can make rice balls containing veggies and / or meat/fish.

Pita bread pizzas
Quiche
Frittatas
Egg and soldiers
Bubble and squeak baked potato with filling ( chopped up for the 1yo)

Is the no-sauce just because of self-feeding? You could take a deep breath and embrace the mess!

I had a spoon-refusing twin, so did finger food for them from the start. I did 'clean' breakfasts and lunches, then gave the little ones what the elder ones were eating for dinner. Any kind of stew/casserole with chunks of meat or vegetables and beans, chickpeas etc. You can swap the carb to make it easier - serve things with pasta, garlic bread, pitta, noodles, oatcakes. Potato wedges with some veg and fish/meat. Stir fry with noodles, pasta with sauces. There was a lot of pasta (there still is, actually...)

Mine used to love a plate full of finger food. Crackers with cheese, sliced cucumber/apples/grapes, a few crisps or pretzel things, a tube yoghurt. In fact at 12 & 13 they have this most Sunday nights.
