Inspire me..please!

Must start eating less of the bad stuff, but the good stuff can be a bit dull by comparison. I always ruin the virtuosity of salads because I love dressings and potato salad and all the naughty stuff.

What's as good as chocolate (that you can eat, before anyone says 'sex'!) but leaves your good intentions intact?

What I really want is to wake up like Woody Allen in Sleeper and find that chocolate cake is good for you

I know that this isn't a recipe spot, but you can make a very authentic dressing for potato salad by mixing equal amounts of quark and helmann's low fat mayo with a chopped red onion - a life saver and very decadent tasting.

Frozen berries - either on thier own with some yoghurt, or whizzed up with some apple juice like a caffe nero summer smoothie

Roast red peppers with garlic.

MI, your ice cream sauce sounds lovely, but if I had to choose bedtween that and and my mother's chocolate fudge sauce featuring double cream, mars bars and Bourneville chocolate, I know which one would win.

Although ds has started saying 'ooh, Grandmother's sauce, yummy, but we mustn't each too much or we'll be sick, won't we?' (Little does he know mummy is quite capable of eating the best part of a jar, straight from the jar. In fact, I can hear the fridge calling me now...)

i love sushi, but some days just can't be bothered to make it, so i just slice up a cool cucumber and dip those in wasabi with soy sauce

Lobster. Watercress. Dollop of mayo.

I had pea ice cream last night and it was really good.

Spinach is my fave veg, love it, love it, love it!

TinyGang · 25/02/2007 00:14

Pea ice cream is a new one on me.

Do you know I've never tried sushi - I really should give it a go. I bet I'd like it.

Edam - you are a woman after my own heart

Thanks to everyone for the lovely suggestions though - I will give some a try.

Prawns
Smoked salmon (with a poached egg)
Crab ............ all low in fat, all good for you
Tsatsiki (especially good if homemade with fat free greek yoghurt, garlic, fresh mint & cucumber - eat with baked potato wedges, or those dutch crispbakes if having to be virtuous)
