Boiling water. I assume you want to take the skins off?

Sit them down and tell them you are going to cook them at a very high heat, then eat them, then watch them blanch.

Yes want the skins off - but googled it and found complicated talk of baking for 10 mins, or boiling but with baking soda added.

Will try a stern talking too(!) but if that doesn't work... does just water work? Any idea how long?

I normally pour boiling water over and leave it for about 10 minutes then rub them in a clean tea towel. Does the job!

I have done them by pouring boiling water over, letting them cool a bit and then peeling. It is a bit of a faff though (they don't pop out oblinginly like almonds) you kind of scrape with you thumb or rub hard.

AllBuggiedOut suggestoin sounds good - rubbing in clean tea towel, or just fine something good on the radio or telly and sit and do it for a while.

Great, thanks. Will give it a go.

I stick them in a low oven (about 150) then rub in a clean tea towel, by putting them in the oven, they develop a nice flavour.
