Pancake party - catering - HELP!!

A friend and I are organising the catering for a Pancake party on Shrove Tuesday. We are expecting 75 people, a mixture of adults and children. So....how many pancakes do we need?? We are also doing teacakes for those who don't like pancakes. There will be games and tea coffee squash etc so the Pancakes aren't the sole attraction (although I think they might be )
We thought 100 pancakes and 50 teacakes. Opinions please?? DH has already said he would eat 5 but the dd's will only have one between them??
We are doing lemon and sugar and syrup as toppings and butter and jam for the teacakes.
TIA.

I reckon these can be done fresh for 75 if you're confident and have two people at the cooker, doing 2 frying pans each and everything is ready. I fed about 30 people fresh crepes in 15 mins, with another 15 mins or so for them to come and get seconds last Shrove Tuesday (at a homeless shelter). I don't think people mind waiting if they're going to get freshly cooked pancakes.

The greaseproof/ oven idea is great though, if you want to have some ready to go.

You'll be effing hot by the end of it though!

Not read entire thread..but...I would make some in advance and cook some there on the day..looks good!!!! unless you are using all ready mades?

Do minimum toppings or it gets crazy and messy. Wouldnt offer an alternative. If its advertised as a pancake party, then leave it at that.

I wouls also go for 3 each

They do freeze well, crepes.

Go on Freecycle or Ebay and look for an plug-in electric crepe hotplate. The you can spread the filling on, roll it up and slice into mini rolls to dish out like hors d'oeuvres.

If you go for soup as well, do a smooth one and serve it in mugs like a hot drink, lets everyone keep a hand free and they can drink it standing up.
