wurlywurly - one trick to help you to use your stoneware is to take the piece of cookware that you already use instead (the one that is a similar shape or size) and put it away - in the garage, or loft, or shed or something, and put the stoneware in its place in the kitchen. Next time you go to use the old piece, I bet you'll use the stoneware rather than trek outside or wherever to get the old dish! Then at least you can tell whether you like it or not, and you won't have spent the points on it for nothing!

i was at a party just before xmas (she made the waffleberry thing....mmmmm)
bought a child's knife, a big hit with dd and only £1
and a serving spatula, bout £3 maybe?
really nice things, but expensive. I spent less than a fiver

I know this sounds like a big olod sales pitch - although I'm never going to sell to any of you lot!! - but I do love the stuff I've got so far in the kit. It's just so sturdy and satisfying to use! There are a few gadgety things that I would never have spent money on (like an egg slicer!) but most of it is just fabulous. And I'm still drooling over other stuff in the catalogue!

It is hard if you don't have a car, and if you work full time. But so far, I do like being a consultant and it's a very supportive company to work for.

oh i got one of the kiddies knives for ds1 who is nearly 8, he has just started making himself sandwiches and things and thought i would be good for him. Its a dull blade so he cant cut himself but also serated so that he can cut the bread. very good we like that one. didnt like the vegetable peeler that i got tho, will have to go back to peeling spuds with a knife.

might wait til the 14th and impress dh - I NEVER bake for him!

satine · 07/02/2007 21:48

So far, I reckon my favourite items are the batter bowl and the stoneware. And the food chopper comes a very close second!

If anyone in W Sussex or Hants or near wants a show, I'm available for bookings..... [shameless plug, sorry]

wurlywurly · 07/02/2007 21:51

satine · 07/02/2007 22:12

Wurlywurly - I am quite happy to travel, if you would like a party!

wurlywurly · 07/02/2007 22:13

i'm in essex!!

satine · 08/02/2007 08:25

Well - I have family near Maidstone, so if it's feasible to travel from there, I'd be up for it!

RanToTheHills · 08/02/2007 08:41

oh sorry to be a party-pooper but I thought they were awful! Massively overpriced, a pain in the a*rse of a "consultant (who basically kept interrupting us having a good chat). She made some god-awful American-style cinnamony pie thing which wasn't ready till about 10 by which time we were all starving as well as rather tipsy. I also hated being so heavily pitched at in a friend's house, most disconcerting!

stitch · 08/02/2007 16:56

i do the same thing, but instead of waffles, use brioche..............o god, i need to stay away from this thread, am doing atkins at the mo.
