so how the hell do I get it in her?

has cheese now and then, yoghurts occasionally

dd1 was the same, but she is a cheese monster so not too concerned

are those milkshake things a huge no no? Chocolate and strawberry flavour things etc. Dh says they are crap!

I had same problem with ds2 but he was ab it younger, I used the milkshake things... why do I now think someone is going to come along and tell me they are terrible...

LIZS · 06/02/2007 15:26

dd was the same . tbh I didn't really worry as long as she had yoghurts etc. You could do smoothies with real fruit instead.

JARM · 06/02/2007 15:26

if you think it will get milk into her, i say do it.

luckily jess will still drink hers as it is but not as much as before.

I did see something quite horrific looking in Tesco's - straws that flavour the milk as you suck through them, strawberry, chocolate and banana I think

maybe worth a try..........?

My dd is quite attached to her sports bottle. I think that's a good compromise - it also stops milk being spilt everywhere.

You could also try giving it through a straw. With my dd at least it seems to be more appealing when she has to suck her milk.

My DS spits milk out when i try to give it to him (he's 2.1)

He eats a lot of yoghurt as well, and cheese so i think its alright.

I dont use the milkshake things cos i'm a bit fussy on what i give him, though i dont really think they are that bad.

Smoothies are my choice - just blend the fruit with milk and he has no idea. I can get pints and pints into him this wee as he's a fruit junkie!

Ds drinks very little milk...and doesn;t even have cereal most days, but does have

Rice pudding
Fromage frais
Drinking yoghurt (e.g. actimel etc)
Ordinary yoghurt
Cheese
Tinned/ fresh fruit with single cream

Why not homemade milkshake? You can make a chocolate one quite easily with a bit of cocoa & sugar, you just have to mix the cocoa & sugar witha bit of hot water, then add teh cold milk.

OK it's got sugar in it, but then so have yoghurts & fromage frais.

Hot chocolate/cocoa? Milk on cereal? Icecream/milky desserts?

You could make your own milkshakes - much nicer than the synthetic flavours.

ds did exactly same not a drop..er
and this week, about 8 months later he asked for it in beaker..

smoothies w/ banana and milk and fruit
if you can up the other dairy (cheese sauce/ custard/rice pudding /porridge) stuff
lots of water instead

i stressed, then didnt,
and the increase in his appetite for other foods makes me think it was a good thing too..
