Mine is hot chocolate. I only buy whittards hot chocolate. Everything else tastes artificial to me! Luckily, they always seem to have a 3 for 2 offer when I go in :D

Anything animal product related - I don't eat it but the family does so for ethical and environmental I only buy sustainable and pasture raised and organic. It's fucking expensive so they don't get meat very often the eggs alone cost a fortune

Started spending more on wine since a somellier friend told me cheap wine in the US (under $25/bottle) still Contains arsenicShock

There's this amazing dip thing called bitchin' sauce which you buy in wholefoods and its aaaaaahhhhhhmazing

Fresh coffee beans and local eggs, all different sizes in the box and the yolks are a proper deep orange. Happy to fork out for both of those.

CurryAndCobra · 16/10/2018 06:15

Chocolate. Can't eat any of the fake stuff. It has to be above 75%.

CherryPavlova · 16/10/2018 07:15

Crab. I have it couriered from Cornwall.
Teabags - can’t abide sawdust tea.
Palestinian Olive oil - to support those living in Gaza.
Cheese.

Meat is cheap as it comes from the farm over the road (beef and lamb) Pork comes from village pigs. Eggs we never buy as so many locally keep hens.

Wine we mainly buy either through Wine Society or pick up when coming back through France. I like good wine, not expensive wine. I buy Nyetimber rather than champagne usually so a bit cheaper and I use cheap champagne for drinks parties.

Eating out. I'm a good cook and if I'm eating out, I want a meal that's way better or more involved than I could make at home. It's a treat, so it should feel like a treat. I don't care about the food being "posh" or presented with "jus" or drizzled with organic walnut oil hand squeezed from the nuts by virgins from the local village. I want good food, cooked beautifully, in a decent quantity, that tastes amazing and served by friendly staff in a relaxed atmosphere in a small locally run business.

Bloom I can't agree more!! I hate going out now where I feel like I could easily have done better at home and haven't got my money's worth. Any restaurant recommendations? I have been so disappointed by some of the "destination" restaurants I've been to in the past.

I will spend extra on meat, fish and eggs and if they don't fit into the budget we won't have it. I'd rather the whole family be vegetarian than eat poorly raised or unethical animal products. We have also cut way down on meat because of climate change concerns.
