my SIL gave us a slow-cooker at Xmas
why???
I have no idea, I have never discussed slow cookers with anyone before, and do not want one
It is on its way to the charity shop
good luck though
sorry no help whatsoever.....

Makes really great lamb shanks....
Have yet to think of a veggie recipe that would do well in a slow cooker, sorry. Likewise I think fish is a bit delicate.

Hi
I have some recipes using fish. Let me know what you fancy and I will post them for you.
Squid in red wine (Poncetastic!)
Stuffed monkfish with coriander and chilli
Crystal steamed trout
Italian seafood casserole
Swordfish bourride (What???)
Poached salmon with beurre blanc
I haven't done any of these btw.
Italian seafood casserole looks delish though
HTH
Oh and my mum always does rice pud in the slow cooker and Expat recommended cooking porridge in it.
Also veggie dishes
Pumpkin and carrot cobbler
Pistachio and apricot pilaf
Sweet potato and chestnut jollof
Green bean risotto with pesto
Chilli black bean stew
Chakchouka
Split pea sofrito
Cauliflower balti
Mushroom and cannellini bean stroganoff
Cajun red bean soup
Gingered carrot soup
Salmon chowder with lime and chilli butter

Oooh there are loads of books. I bought this one because it wasn't too big and has pictures which are v imp to me cos I read cookery books for fun more than I cook from them .
Also it is English and so all ingredients available and measurements I can cope with. I think probably the better books are American but ???
This book has some recipes where the cooker is used as a bain marie which I think is stretching things a little but I have used lots of the meat based recipes and they are yummy.
