Has anyone got an Easi-Yo yoghurt maker?

And if so, would you recommend buying one?

Dd and I both get through gallons of natural yogurt and I've tried in the past to make my own using the thermometer method but it was a bit hit and miss! This Easi-Yo one claims to be 'foolproof' ...

Any experiences in yogurt making?

I don't have the Easy-yo maker, I use this one sold by Lakeland. It's very good, never failed yet. The yogurt is runnier than bought stuff but you can strain it to thicken it a bit. I use UHT milk as you don't need to scald it first.

Thanks Sue! I looked at that one as well. I'm going to have a look on the Lakeland website today.

Do you flavour your yogurt or eat it plain? I'm hoping to make yogurt that is nice enough to go in the dcs' packed lunches.

I've got the Easi-Yo and it's brilliant. Really yummy yogurt and dead cheap.
You just chuck the powder in with water and shake it, then fill the flask with boiling water.
Definitely worth the £20 or whatever.
Enjoy

yes get one- I've had one for over a decade, simple lovely yoghurt
You can get a wide number of bases
probiotic, organic, low fat, no suagr, sweetened, vanilla, custard
WE tend to keep plain and use fruit to falvour but we all love plain yoghurt

I've got the Easi-yo and love it. I can get through the kilo of yogurt in a couple of days. If you hunt around on the internet, you can get some offers with them. The greek yogurt is lovely and thick. I have it with some fruit coulis on it. You can add a couple of spoonfuls of sugar before you put it in the flask to sweeten.

Will try that, DrunkenSailor, thanks. I think I read somewhere you could add milk powder to thicken it but then it's all getting a bit complicated and the whole point of making it, imo is that it's simple to do.

Roseylea, I use it plain or flavoured, whatever we want. Even a bit of brown sugar stirred through is really tasty! I wish I had my yoghurt maker out here in Nigeria, as yoghurt, (unless you buy the scary stuff that doesn't need refrigerating ) is quite hard to get. I've bought a large flask to try and make some that way, just haven't got around to it yet.

Well I looked at the Easiyo and discovered it has soya lecithin in amongst the core ingredients and as my dd is allergic to soya that one was off the list.

So I got the Lakeland one that suedonim recommended and we had our first batch (if that's the right word!) of yogurt this morning! It was yummy. We aqlso ordered some of the Easiyo strawberry sauce which is unbelievably sweet and the dcs had a little bit of that with theirs. Has anyone made frozed yogurt with homemade yog?

I must be having a kitchen gadgetry moment because this week I also bought a seed sprouting kit and we've been diligently changing the water and watching the little sprouts start to grow in there. Have I lost it completely?!?
