Birthday Party Snacks

Any suggestions for what to lay on for feeding around 14 adults coming to Ds's 1st birthday party? I'll only be home from work about 1/2 hour before they arrive so am looking for snacky things that are easy to prepare, but still look good!

Thanks

This can be expensive, but if you have a big sainsbury's near you, they do large platters of anything from sandwiches to all the snacks you can think of. We found it worked for get-together after dd's baptism. It's not cheap, but was v handy and saved a lot of time and stress and imo worth the money for a v special occasion. You order it a week or so in advance and collect it on the day.

M&S do those platters too, as do Waitrose and prob. most supermarkets.

If you have a pret a manger near you they do good ones too.

If you are doing it yourself, how about something you can prepare in advance like making some pies or quiches or something? Or order a few big delivery pizzas!

Hi TuTu

If you are looking for a very reasonably priced idea - go to Iceland and buy their party range of goodies. I think they are 3 for £5. They do things like chinese chicken, filled pastries, spring rolls, etc. Some do in the microwave, so are very quick. They are cooked from frozen also. They also do a sweet range but I haven't tried them.

I served a selection of these up last Halloween and everyone was very complimentary and couldn't believe they were from Iceland. Loads of my friends have served them up since.
HTH
Have a great party!

Thanks. Will check out Iceland and maybe just throw in a few homemade sarnies as a token jesture! Realising now that too ambitious to prepare very much myself in the time. And pizza sounds like a good back up plan if they all decide to stay late!

The sweet party range from Iceland is great too. Although I didn't buy them for a party, DP and I scoffed them between us
